Rachael Lewis Anna was a four-year varsity starter in both soccer and basketball at Latin. Rachael was coached by Eric Smith in basketball and was a four-time All-Conference, four-time All-Observer, and two-time All-State with two state championship titles. Lee Horton coached Rachael on the soccer field, where she was four-time All-Conference, four-time All-Observer and four-time All-State with 60 career goals, 30 career assists and three-time state runner-up. Rachael was named the Charlotte Observer Female Athlete of the Year in 1997.
Rachael was a scholarship soccer player at Wake Forest University, where she was a four-year starter. She made the Southeast Region all-freshman team and was named part of the ACC All-Tournament team in 1999. Rachael played professionally for Santos FC (Brazil) and the Charlotte Eagles.
Rachael and her husband, David, live in Greenville, SC, with their daughter, Kyla, and son, Caden. Rachael earned her J.D. from Wake Forest School of Law and is a partner at Nexsen Pruet.
