2023 New Latin Track Record 4x800m relay

2 New Records, 4 Individual Champions, 30 PRs at CISAA Track & Field Champs

Varsity track and field athletes won four individual events and achieved two new school records at the 2023 Charlotte Independent School Athletic Association (CISAA) Track and Field Championships May 12-13. Thirty athletes achieved personal bests in their respective events, and both the boys' and girls' teams finished fourth overall. State qualifiers will travel to Cannon School for the NCISAA Championships May 19-20. 

Congratulations to the following individual event winners:
Two new standards were set for the Charlotte Latin Track & Field record book. Helen Hurden  ran a 10:59.42 to finish fourth and became the first Hawk to break 11 minutes in the 3200m. She broke the 2011 record of 11:02.24 set by Haylee Dawe. Helen also ran personal best times in the 1600m and the 800m. The boys 4x800m relay of Jackson DiRoma, Edward Guggenheimer, Webb Kiser and Will Vaughn finished 3rd in 8:09.97 to surpass another record from 2011. The relay team of Ryan Shoffner, Tyler Mott, Jack Amory, and Michael Grace held the mark for more than ten years with a time of 8:15.52.
