Brad Hoover was a three-sport athlete in high school, playing football, running track (hurdles and 400 meter) and filling multiple positions in baseball (shortstop, center field, pitcher and catcher). He was a standout on the football field at Western Carolina University, where he studied industrial engineering and marketing, but went undrafted before joining the Carolina Panthers franchise as a free agent in 2000. After a very successful 10-year stint playing fullback in the NFL, Hoover retired from the Panthers in 2010 and eventually found his way back to the gridiron as a high school coach, most recently as the head of the program for Cannon School from 2015-2020. Coach Hoover joined the Latin football staff in the summer of 2023 and became a physical education teacher for CLS that fall. His role expanded to include head coaching for the middle school baseball team in the spring of 2024. He and his wife, Brandi, have two teenage daughters.
