2026 Middle School Cheer
The Middle School cheer program is open to all sixth through eighth grade students, no experience necessary. Practices begin August 17th and run from 3:30-5:00. Meet at the SAC Plaza (in front of the Beck Student Activities Center by the hawk statue). We support the Middle School Football Team and follow their schedule - both home and away. Contact head coach Jenny Chapman for additional information. 

2025 Season Summary

Middle school cheer had its most spirit-filled season yet!  Our 24 team members were a combination of 4 returning seventh graders, 19 sixth graders, 4 "new to Latin" middle schoolers, including our only eighth grader.  We had a fun time cheering on our MS Football Hawks to a winning season.  New to our practice schedule this year was heading off campus to a cheer gym one day a week to work with an All-Star cheer coach. This really helped our team level up with stunts & jumps and helped build our confidence!
 
Our favorite memories were making locker posters for all the fall sport MS athletes, performing a halftime routine at our last home game and getting ready for games together.  Coaches Kerr and Chapman can't wait to having these girls return as 7th & 8th graders, and look forward to watching Avery, our 8th grader, move up to cheer with Varsity next fall!

2024 Season Summary

Latin MS cheerleaders had an exciting football season to cheer for! With a team of 10 girls, made up of three 7th graders and seven 6th graders, we were lucky to have so many new girls to not only the cheer program, but also to Charlotte Latin. Our 7th graders were great leaders in teaching cheers, sidelines, stunts and fight song, and the energy the cheerleaders brought to each football game was contagious! A few highlights for the team was making locker signs during practice for each athlete participating in fall sports for a big game throughout the season and getting to perform at Touchdown Tailgate with the Varsity cheerleaders and dance team. Coaches Chapman & Kerr are so proud of all that these girls accomplished through teamwork this season and how they embodied what Latin school spirit was all about!
