Charlotte Latin JV Girls Soccer
2026 Season
Season officially begins February 9
2025 Season Summary
By Coach Barthram
The 2024 JV girls’ soccer team had many challenges to deal with this season right from the start. With low numbers this season it meant that we had to incorporate some 8th grade soccer players to our team. Initially, we struggled to find our identity, but after a few games under our belt we started to develop and come together as a team. By mid-season we put together some good results against tough opponents showing plenty of desire and commitment and playing some good soccer. We’re proud of the progress the JV girls made both individually and as a team.
2024 Season Summary
By Coach Barthram
2024 was the Invincible Season for JV Girls’ Soccer. What an amazing journey it has been with this young group of players! From the very first practice this group of girls worked very hard to develop their skills, discipline and chemistry together. This team produced some beautiful soccer that was entertaining and a joy to watch, scoring a record 42 goals and only conceding 3, on their way to an undefeated season. Their commitment to each other and the team carried them through this incredible season. The coaches are very proud of this team and what they have achieved.
2023 Season Summary
The 2023 JV girls’ soccer team got off to a flying start this season playing some fantastic soccer. For such a young team we played with such confidence and creativity, and always with discipline and grace. By mid-season the team had developed great chemistry together and it showed during the games. We were so competitive, other teams found it difficult to break us down with our strength and desire to maintain possession of the ball. Over all, this season was a major success as the results showed the team worked so hard and at the same time had so much fun.
2022 Season Summary
The 2022 JV Hawks came together as a team to play their best football at the end of the season. This is what all teams strive to do: improve throughout the season's campaign to be at their very best by the end. So in the last two weeks of the season, the Hawks shared the ball in creative ways, defended with strength and courage, adopted a free-flowing style of play when possessing the ball, scored some beautiful goals and enjoyed some spirited practices. The players developed with respect to their soccer IQ as well as we shifted formations a number of times and players found themselves playing in different positions. Regardless of any changes, the players kept the focus on the team before individuals and showed their quality as players and people. Over half of the goals we scored came from assists and the goalkeepers collaborated to preserve two shutout wins. The JV Hawks finished with a record of 4-3-2 and second in the conference. Most importantly, the coaches are proud of the junior class' leadership and their inspiration in helping form the team bond that has created lasting memories for both players and coaches alike. Go Hawks!
2021 Season Summary
The 2021 JV girls' soccer team finished with an overall record of 5-4-3. The season presented many challenges to the squad but each and every time the players approached the challenge with grit and resilience, demonstrating true passion and desire with their play and encouragement of each other. The team operated under the "we" before "me" mantra and bought into the philosophy of sharing the ball and helping teammates to find the game and assert themselves for the greater goal of team success. To this end, of the 22 goals we scored this year, all 22 of them were assisted! Additionally, as the season progressed, so too did our level of play. Facing some of our tougher opponents at the end of the season, we played our best soccer in those games, ending with a decisive 2-1 win during which we shared the ball in creative ways, finished with confidence and defended soundly. The coaches are especially proud of this group as they navigated an up and down season with positivity and trust in each other. We can't wait to see more improvement next season! Go Hawks!
2020 Season Summary
The spring athletic season came to an abrupt end on Thursday, March 12, 2020, when the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association announced that all athletics events were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The impact of that decision on our spring student-athletes was top of mind for all involved and the athletic department, coaches, booster club, and parents worked together to keep our Hawks engaged and connected. Our Latin athletes ended their seasons in an unprecedented and unexpected way, but with a renewed appreciation for their sport, their teammates, and the many benefits of participating in Charlotte Latin Athletics.
