2025 Season Summary

The middle school girl’s lacrosse team had a great season and showed incredible growth, teamwork, and grit from start to finish. With a record of 8-4, every game was a chance to improve and come together as a team. We had the chance to play some teams twice throughout the season and beat PD the second time around with a goal in the last few seconds to win the game. We saw great plays on both ends of the field, strong defense, excellent goal-tending, sharp passing, and some impressive goals. More importantly, our players supported each other, worked hard, and
represented our school with pride. Thanks to all that supported the team throughout the season!
2024 Season Summary

The Middle School Girls’ Lacrosse Team had an awesome season full of excitement and lots of improvement. More than half of the team had never played lacrosse before, and we did not have a
designated goalie. Everyone stepped up and volunteered to play a game in goal, and the Hawks worked hard to learn and develop their skills. The coaches enjoyed seeing the new players find their way, with some guidance from their more experienced teammates, and the whole group improved every day and every game. It was a fun season with lots of growth!
2023 Season Summary
The Middle School girls' lacrosse team was a combined 7th and 8th grade team for the 2023 season. Many of the girls were coming to lacrosse for the first time and we saw great improvement through the season. With ten returning players from the 7th grade team a year ago, we welcomed seven new 8th graders to the team. Additionally, we had ten 7th graders join them this year for a combined roster of 27 players. Playing against area local schools and club teams, we finished the season 5-12-1. This was an energetic and athletic team that were never at a loss for positive spirit and support for their teammates.
2022 Season Summary
This middle school 8th grade team is a special group. With many returning players and a handful of new, they were able to come together and pull out some memorable wins like beating our rival, Country Day! This group of girls really worked hard on and off the field and always brought positive attitudes to practice. Many girls really fell in love with the sport and had a great time. All showing up every day wanting to learn and be better. Overall, we're very proud to see this group grow and evolve into experienced lacrosse players!
2021 Season Summary
The 8th grade girls' lacrosse team played with purpose and energy throughout the season. They faced some extremely difficult competition but always worked hard, played tough and stayed positive. By the season's end, they were a strong, cohesive and formidable team. A special thank you to all those who played in goal!
2020 Season Summary
The spring athletic season came to an abrupt end on Thursday, March 12, 2020, when the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association announced that all athletics events were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The impact of that decision on our spring student-athletes was top of mind for all involved and the athletic department, coaches, booster club, and parents worked together to keep our Hawks engaged and connected. Our Latin athletes ended their seasons in an unprecedented and unexpected way, but with a renewed appreciation for their sport, their teammates, and the many benefits of participating in Charlotte Latin Athletics.
