2024 Season Summary

Our 8-2 finish is remarkable. We had many players who had never played volleyball competitively- and now they can’t get enough! We are proud of the discipline that this team showed in their fundamentals- which is why they were so successful! Their energy was unmatched and consistent throughout every game and practice. Their open-mindedness to growth and learning was every coach’s dream. We cannot wait for this group to continue competing and growing!
We coaches hope our players know that they are loved and valued for more than their athletic abilities. This year was especially special with 3 of our coaches getting to coach 2 teams, and we were especially thankful for the opportunity to do so. You wouldn’t believe the moments we had together unless you were there yourself, and we hope our players value those memories as much as we coaches do.Â
2023Â Season Summary
I have coached many different teams of all ages but this by far was my most exciting season. This 7th grade team started with most of the girls never playing volleyball before, but they were eager to learn, and I was eager to teach and coach them to be successful. They improved so much as a team and individuals; it was an incredible thing to see. With the support of my amazing coaching staff Jenna Sinclair, Marianna Spero, and super supportive help of our team manager Lily Dunn. The theme of this season was "Becoming better people and players." This theme helped the girls on and off the court with being good human beings first. We ended the season with a record of 6-2 with both very close losses to Country Day. I am super excited to see the future for this great group of girls!
2022Â Season Summary
What an amazing season the youngest volleyball Hawks had! This team improved so much and really learned what it means to work together as a team. We battled injuries and learned to play new positions. We truly had each other’s backs and we persevered until the end. Our last game was our most exciting, coming out on top after coming from behind. Our never-give-up attitude helped us grow all season long. Way to go, Hawks!
2021 Season Summary
The 7th grade volleyball team was a cohesive and supportive group who learned a ton this season and supported each other every step of the way. The players developed their serving, passing and hitting, as well as new friendships and a passion for the game. Highlights of the season included exciting wins against Charlotte Country Day and Charlotte Christian.
2020 Season Summary
The 7th grade volleyball team made the most of every practice, arriving with enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn. The team finished with a 4-1 record. From Coach Cerbie: "The seventh grade volleyball team had an amazing season. Besides learning all the fundamental skills necessary to be competitive, the girls truly played together as a TEAM. Excellent serving was a key to our success along with a rock-solid defense. Way to go, Hawks!"
