2024 - 2025 Season Summary
By Coach Wolfe
The middle school wrestling team went undefeated this season! Their team record was 7-0 and they won the GCMSAA Invitational. We had six individual conference champions: Harrison Linch, Trey Chapman, Dewey Wrenn, Mills Cutter, Henry Lilly, and Avery Howell. This season was special because we were able to fill all 17 weight classes for every match for the first time in Coach Wolfe's 23-year career. It was a fitting end for Coach Wolfe, who will still be teaching at Latin, but has retired from coaching. His final season with Charlotte Latin's middle school wrestling was one for the record books.

2022 - 2023 Season Summary
The Charlotte Latin Middle School wrestling team had a wonderful year! The team record was a stellar 8-1.  The team ended up 3rd in the GCMSAA conference with many individual place winners.  Theo Fletcher (83lbs.), Trey Paige (113 lbs.) and Patrick Cunningham (195 lbs.) earned 1st place.  Clifton Gorelick (138 lbs.), Cooper Cumbus (145 lbs.), Cole Bradley (160 lbs.) and Holland Loeffler (170 lbs.) earned 2nd place.  The coaching staff was impressed with our team's grit and determination each and every week of the season.  The eighth graders will be missed as they move up to varsity and the seventh graders will take on the leadership for next season.

2021 - 2022 Season Summary
We had a very successful middle school wrestling season this year. With a blend of first-time wrestlers and veterans, we were co-champions of the conference. The boys wrestled an excellent championship round at conferences to catch and tie Charlotte Christian. We had 5 conference champions: Liam McConaughy at 92 lbs., Spear Gorelick at 120 lbs., Mac Fletcher at 126 lbs., Matthew Flynn at 160 lbs. and Banks Cutter at 182 lbs. The future of Charlotte Latin wrestling is on the right track!

2020 - 2021 Season Summary
Despite all of the uncertainty of Covid going into this season, the middle school wrestling team excelled. The guys showed up ready to work and get better everyday and it showed when we were able to compete. We ended our season with a 3-1 dual record, out-scoring our opponents by 30 points or more in each win. Our only loss came from a tough match against Metrolina, which came down to criteria. It takes a lot of dedication and perseverance to train for 2 months only to compete 4 times outside of the room. Every wrestler on this team displayed those qualities as well as competitiveness and grit. I am very proud of these guys for toughing it out and staying together this season!
