2024 - 2025 Season Summary
By Coach Wylie
The MS Boys Navy basketball team faced early challenges this season, including the promotion of 8th grader Emory Chaney to the varsity team. After battling through injuries and tough last-second losses, the Hawks regrouped after the holiday break and finished strong, closing out the season with a five-game win streak to finish 8-7. Tommy White led the team in scoring, providing consistent offensive leadership throughout the year. The highlight of the season came with an exciting overtime victory at home against a talented Marvin Ridge team. Best of luck to these Hawks as they continue their basketball journey next year in high school!

2023 - 2024 Season Summary
By Coach Caleb Jordan
The 8th-grade boys' basketball team had an amazing season, finishing with a commendable 7-8 record. Despite the ups and downs, one remarkable achievement stood out: every player scored a basket, highlighting the team's collective effort and unity on the court.

Throughout the season, the Hawks witnessed contributions from every member of the team, showcasing the depth and versatility of their roster. From clutch shots to crucial defensive stops, each player played a vital role in the team's success. Under the guidance of coaches Jordan and Harrell, the Hawks flourished, not only in terms of wins and losses but also in individual skill development and team cohesion. Coach Jordan and Harrell's dedication to nurturing their players' talents and fostering a positive team environment was evident in the growth and progress witnessed throughout the entire season.

As the season progressed, the Hawks faced challenges, but they approached each game with determination and resilience. Whether celebrating victories or learning from defeats, the team remained united, continuously striving to improve and support one another both on and off the court. Overall, the 8th-grade boys' basketball team's season was defined by teamwork, perseverance, and growth. As they reflect on their journey, the Hawks can take pride in their accomplishments and look forward to building on their success in the seasons to come.

2022 - 2023 Season Summary
While the 6-9 record did not show it, the Hawks proved they could compete with anyone in the conference. Seven out of the 9 losses for the Hawks were by single digits.  The Hawks defeated eventual conference champion Country Day earlier in the season on the road. The boys competed every day and learned a lot throughout the season. They will be a fun group to watch as they continue on throughout high school.

2021 - 2022 Season Summary
This year for 8th grade basketball was a great learning year for our student-athletes. Each and every game the Hawks improved and showed that they can compete in this very talented league. Despite going 1-10, our record did not reflect the strides we made in practice and in games. Towards the end of the season, we were playing our best basketball and then COVID struck. We had almost every athlete out due to COVID and we canceled the rest of the season. Everyone on the team made tremendous strides throughout the season and I cannot wait to see how they progress over the next couple of years!

2020 - 2021 Season Summary
The 8th grade boys' basketball team completed a season like no other in December. The team finished 0-8, but the Hawks showed tremendous growth and improvement during the season as their second games against teams were consistently much more competitive than their first. The team dealt with injury and illness throughout the season and struggled to find a rhythm - never playing a game with every player and coach present. But the Hawks persevered and were led by consistent contributions from Wilkes Brown, Eli Simmons, and Charlie Smith. Ultimately, we were thankful for the opportunity to play and look forward to a more normal season next year.
