2025-26 Season
Season officially begins October 27

2024 - 2025 Season Summary
By Coach Gatoux
The Middle School Girls' White basketball team enjoyed a season full of individual and team accomplishments en route to a 7-7 overall record. While consistently improving its development over the course of the season, this small but resilient group of ten athletes saw everyone play in every game, everyone started at least one game, everyone scored, and half the team made a 3-point shot. The coaching staff appreciated this engaged and coachable group that was never afraid to try something new and took great joy in celebrating each other's contributions and milestones.

2023 - 2024 Season Summary
By Coach David Gatoux
The distinguishing characteristic of the '23-'24 7th grade girls' basketball team was its enthusiastic support of one another's development, achievements, and successes.  This selfless attitude led to a season full of wonderful moments and celebrations en route to an overall 7-7 record.  Equally, due to consistency in attendance and effort in daily practice, the team showed steady improvement throughout the season. The coaching staff also appreciated the exceptionally teachable attitudes of each team member, which led to individual and team progress but also points to a bright future for girls' basketball at Latin.

2022 - 2023 Season Summary
By Coach David Gatoux
In a season chock full of highlights, the distinguishing characteristics of the seventh grade girls' basketball team were its work ethic, unity, and outward support for one another. Ultimately, this team-first attitude, along with a talented group of young women, led to a successful 11-2 overall record. That said, the coaching staff took great satisfaction in the daily interactions with the team, as it continued to grow together and systematically improve over the course of the season. That was no more in evidence than in the season-ending victory at Holy Trinity, which had previously given the Hawks one of its two losses. What will remain cemented in this team's memory is celebrating together after a game of digging deep to overcome a nearly double-digit deficit with a late game 3-point shot to take the lead and great hustle on defense to hold on for the win.  Needless to say, it was a fun season in which the coaches are most thankful for the many positive experiences with the girls and their families.

2021 - 2022 Season Summary
By Coach David Gatewood
The 7th grade girls' team came into the season without a lot of experience and struggled a bit in the early stages of the season. However, the girls learned quickly about playing with intensity and purpose. For instance, one of the hallmarks of their improvement was their response to being pressed by the opposition, as teams found that what worked at the beginning of the season did not work as well as the season progressed. More than one team felt compelled to call off its press entirely due to its ineffectiveness against the Latin girls. A three-game winning streak in the middle of the season gave the Hawks confidence, and their improved quality of play against teams they had previously faced revealed the breadth of their improvement. With commitment in the off-season, and belief in themselves, the girls have a bright future ahead.

2020 - 2021 Season Summary
By Coach Tammi Rogers
The 7th grade girls' basketball team finished the season with a 7-0 record. With a deep 16-player roster, the Hawks learned to work together and give their all while keeping an active rotation. The team's tenacity on defense and overall intensity served them well against their opponents. Two of the more exciting games were a victory over a talented Providence Day team and an overtime win against Holy Trinity on their home court. All of the girls are extremely hard working, dedicated and wonderful teammates. The girls plan to continue working in the offseason to build their skills and carry over this success into next year. Go Hawks!
