2024 - 2025 Season Summary

The MS Boys White basketball team finished the season with a record of 11-3. The team beat every opponent on its schedule at least once and many of the wins were by large margins. Wins over Providence Day on the road and Holy Trinity at home really stood out. The Hawks were led by a solid group of starters including Pierce Giles, Jordan Patterson, Jackson Smith, Walker Sammons, and Ihien Ighade. This entire group of 7th graders has a bright future in the Latin basketball program.

2023 - 2024 Season Summary

The Charlotte Latin 7th Grade basketball team soared through an impressive season, culminating in an 11-3 record and a flawless performance on the road. Guided by the exceptional play of Emory Chaney, who maintained a remarkable average of 24 points per game while shooting an impressive 50% from the field, the Hawks demonstrated their prowess on the court. The highlight of their season came with a resounding victory over previously undefeated Holy Trinity, stunning them by a commanding 24-point margin in their own gym. During this remarkable game, the Hawks showcased their outstanding skill, shooting an astonishing 54% from the field. Emory Chaney delivered an extraordinary performance, contributing 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists, while Garnder Kelly added 14 points with an impressive 60% shooting accuracy, solidifying their team's triumph and leaving an indelible mark on their season. Coach Wylie could not be more proud of this group and believes they have a very bright future in the Charlotte Latin basketball program.

2022 - 2023 Season Summary
The 2022-2023 season for Charlotte Latin's 7th grade boys' basketball team was an exhilarating and rewarding season for all that watched the team this season. The Hawks started off with a victory over Charlotte Christian on the road, where every player had time on the floor and contributed to the win. They continued their winning ways with victories over conference foes including Holy Trinity, Covenant Day, Providence Day, and Cannon School. Finishing with a winning record of 11-3, the Hawks had breakout performances from Jeylan Womack, Edward Fisher, and Gavin Jones in crucial games throughout the season. Players like McNair Beaver, Jack Lilly, Robert Comly, Rylan Strife, and Jackson Kerr also played key roles in wins throughout the season. James Edge, JR Egner, Parker Bange, Gus Fochtmann, Peyton Laughton, and Thomas Hanna all recorded buckets throughout the season and were keys to the Hawks success as well. An overall great season for Coach Jordan and Coach Harrell who look to coach the Hawks into next season. 

2021 - 2022 Season Summary
The 7th grade boys' basketball team had a fantastic season finishing with a record of 12-1. This group is one of the most talented groups to come through in a long time. They have a high basketball IQ, which translates to good things on the court. One of the most impressive things was how many different players led in scoring throughout the season. Their average margin of victory was 26 points.

2020 - 2021 Season Summary
The 7th grade boys' basketball team finished the season 7-2. The season started fast with only one practice before we jumped into competition. The Hawks were off to a great start with a buzzer-beater from Til Wagner to win their first game at Cannon. The Hawks didn't look back as they continued to improve despite a shortened season and a lack of practice time. Their only two losses came against a strong Charlotte Christian team. Great job, Go Hawks!
