Coach Matrejek joined the Latin faculty as an Upper School math teacher and a varsity swimming assistant coach in 2022. She previously taught and coached at Independence High School, and continues to coach the summer league swim team at Pine Lake. In addition to teaching Upper School math, Coach Matrejek volunteers as the prom planner, tutors extensively, and is known for her creativity and skill with crafts. After her fourth season with the Hawks, Coach Matrejek was honored by the Charlotte Latin Booster Club with the Assistant Coach of the Year award at the Hawkpys. She also received recognition by the CLS Alumni Board with the prestigious Inlustrate Orbem award in 2026. Coach Matrejek is the oldest of five children and earned her degree in education from Western Carolina University.
