2026 Season
Season officially begins February 9

2025 Season Summary
By Coach Wylie
The Charlotte Latin Hawks completed another incredible season, capturing their third straight NCISAA 4A state championship in dominant fashion. After cruising to the CISAA Conference Title, the team carried that momentum into the postseason and never looked back, winning the state championship by a wide margin behind strong play up and down the lineup. The year started with Henry Holland winning the Carmel Shootout individual title, setting the tone for a standout season. He went on to win the individual state championship, shooting 68-68 for an 8-under total to cap off his junior campaign. At the CISAA Championship, Griffin Cheatwood earned medalist honors with a 3-under 69. The team took the conference title in convincing fashion, with consistent performances throughout the roster. Six players earned All-Conference honors: Jack Hollmeyer, Aston Lee, Griffin Cheatwood, Graham Wagner, Til Wagner, and Henry Holland. Holland, Cheatwood, and Graham Wagner were also named to the NCISAA All-State Team and selected for the All-Observer Team by The Charlotte Observer. Head Coach Chris Berger was named Charlotte Observer Golf Coach of the Year for the third year in a row, recognizing both the team’s success and the culture he’s built around hard work and preparation. With depth, talent, and poise, this year’s group kept the bar high for one of the most consistent golf programs in the state.

2024 Season Summary
By Coach Wylie
The Hawks entered the year with high expectations, having won their first state title since 1994 in the previous season. They returned four sophomore starters from last season's team (Griffin Cheatwood, Aston Lee, Til Wagner, and Henry Holland) and added freshmen Graham Wagner and Will Moody to the starting lineup. The Hawks began the season ranked #1 in the state and finished with another state title, maintaining the lowest scoring differential in the state throughout the season. Their incredible depth was evident as five additional Hawks qualified for the state tournament as individuals. Along with repeating as state champs, a highlight of the season was finishing second out of 48 teams at The Palmetto in Pawley's Island, SC, after shooting an 8-under-par 280 on the final day to vault up the leaderboard. Additionally, the Hawks won the CISAA conference tournament, with Jack Hollmeyer leading the way with an even-par 72 and co-medalist honors.

2023 Season Summary
The Hawks were young and the Hawks were deep. The varsity team was led by seniors Davis Sayman and Jackson Adams, whose consistency and experience were the foundation that our talented newcomers built on. Freshmen Aston Lee, Henry Holland, Til Wagner, and Griffin Cheatwood proved themselves to be tough competitors throughout the season and earned their spots on the championship team. The Hawks finished the NCISAA Division I Championship in first place with a score of 292 to win the program’s first state title since 1994. Aston Lee shot 69 to finish in a first-place tie for individual champion with Christ School's Taylor Kuehn that was decided with sudden-death play starting at the 10th tee. Aston won the first hole and the individual medalist title. Click here for more details and individual results.

2020 Season Summary
The spring athletic season came to an abrupt end on Thursday, March 12, 2020, when the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association announced that all athletics events were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The impact of that decision on our spring student-athletes was top of mind for all involved and the athletic department, coaches, booster club, and parents worked together to keep our Hawks engaged and connected. Our Latin athletes ended their seasons in an unprecedented and unexpected way, but with a renewed appreciation for their sport, their teammates, and the many benefits of participating in Charlotte Latin Athletics.
