Charlotte Latin battled four other teams for the NCISAA Division I Boys' Golf Championship Monday on the Champions Course at Bryan Park in Greensboro. The Hawks were represented by two seniors and four freshmen - the same group that earned a spot in the championship by shooting 301 at the previous week's qualifier event at Grandover Resort (those results are online
here). Led by freshman
Aston Lee and senior
Davis Sayman, the Latin team shot 292 to win the program's first state title since 1994.
Freshman
Aston Lee shot 69 to finish in a first place tie for individual champion with Christ School's Taylor Kuehn. The pair returned to the 10th tee for a sudden-death playoff, with Aston hitting first after a random selection. He hit the green in two, then putted in two for par and the victory. Click
