2024 - 2025 Season Summary
By Coach Owen
The 2024-2025 JV Girls’ Basketball team had an incredibly successful season, finishing with a 12-7 record. After a tough start, losing 3 of the first 4 games, the team rallied around a common goal: to become the best teammates they could be and work hard to turn the season around. And they DID IT! The girls went on to win 11 of their last 15 games, while increasing their points per game average by 19 points. The coaches are immensely proud of how the team stuck together and improved throughout the season. A standout moment was our thrilling overtime win against Nation Ford High School. Trailing late in the 4th quarter, the team mounted a comeback with a relentless full-court press, capped off by a clutch (banked-in) three-pointer from Harris Hollmeyer. The team was led by sophomore forward Giselle Bezanson and freshman guards Harris Hollmeyer and Lucy Hutchens, but every player made a significant contribution. It was truly a joy to coach and spend time with such a dedicated and talented group!

2023 - 2024 Season Summary
By Coach Elizabeth Owen
This year’s JV girls’ basketball season was full of excitement! We made a habit out of playing overtime games and if it wasn’t overtime (or double OT!!), most of our games were really close! Finishing the season with a strong record of 9-7, we played 4 overtime games and 6 of our losses were by 5 points or less. The coaches are proud of this team for always playing hard and never giving up even when down. They were good teammates to each other and worked hard to improve throughout the season. Highlights of the season include a double overtime win over Country Day with a buzzer-beater by Drue Amin and a comeback overtime win over a tough Union Academy team. Go Hawks!

2022 - 2023 Season Summary
By Coach Elizabeth Owen
The JV girls' basketball team had an extremely successful season - finishing with a record of 10-6 against strong competition from both public and private schools in our area.  Thanks to Coach Berger for getting us a full schedule when many schools could not field teams! Key wins on the season came against a strong Charlotte Catholic team, 2 dominant wins over an always talented PD team, and our finale for a 2nd win against Cuthbertson High School. This group was one of the most fun I have ever coached, but also one of the most talented. Over the course of the season, they came together as a team and improved individually across the board. I think anyone who came to a game this year would agree that they were a fun team to watch. The future's very bright!!

2021 - 2022 Season Summary
The JV girls' basketball team had a very successful season on the court, finishing 2nd in the conference with a record of 11-4. Highlights included a big win against rival Providence Day and an incredible win in a double OT thriller against Country Day. We were led by our juniors Anya Amin and Cindy Minnig, both 3-year members of the JV program who have grown into talented basketball players and incredible leaders for our team. We will miss you next year!! Our sophomore returning players Mary Stewart, Lydia, and Anna were huge for us this year! And newcomers, freshmen Syd, Bridget, Casey, and Natalia brought a lot of talent, personality, and energy, they worked really hard and showed incredible improvement over the course of the season – the future's so bright!! A special thanks to our varsity swing players, freshmen Alison, Maggie, Alex, Wallace, and Eleanor.

2020 - 2021 Season Summary
With all of the off-court challenges they had to deal with this season, this group rose to the occasion. A veteran group of players led by captains Lizzie Griesser, Aven Cutter, and Jane Brownlow helped guide the Hawks to a tie for second place in conference with their trademark full court press. This season was filled with game winners and a new approach to practice and skill work. The JV Lady Hawks have a bright future in store for the program with a talented freshman and sophomore class.
