Richard Fletcher returns to the Mat Hawks as a middle school assistant coach after serving as the head of the program from 1990-2016. During his tenure as the head varsity coach, he accumulated more than 500 match victories, captured 17 conference championships and 12 NCISAA state wrestling titles. Coach Fletcher has been recognized at the local, regional, state, and national levels as coach of the year, but is most passionate about his role as father to Mac and Theo. As his sons have aged into the wrestling program, Coach Fletcher, who also teaches art in the Upper School, returns to the wrestling staff so that they can share the experience of serving a team together.
