Coach Paguibitan joined the Latin community in 2018 as an AP Psychology and Upper School Spanish teacher. As a former head coach for Davidson Day School’s soccer team and experience as the Director of Sports Psychology at Lake Norman Soccer Club, Coach Paguibitan was anxious to get involved in Latin’s soccer program. He grew up in Atlanta, GA, where he played in two state championships before going to Kennesaw State University for his undergraduate degree in psychology and on to Vanderbilt University to earn a Master’s in education. After serving as the head coach of the Middle School boys' team for four seasons, Paguibitan took on a new role as a mental wellness coach, initially as a pilot program working predominantly with the varsity soccer teams in 2022-23, and subsequently in a broader role advising athletes and teams in a variety of sports. He earned the Assistant Coach of the Year award from the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association in 2023.
