Tim Kelly joined Latin’s staff as the Head Athletic Trainer in 2007 after five years at Rhodes College. He earned a B.S. from Marietta College in 2001 and an M.Ed. from the University of Virginia in 2002. Kelly was selected as one of ten national finalists for Training & Conditioning magazine’s Most Valuable Athletic Trainer award in 2017. He has since moved into an Assistant Athletic Director role, overseeing the athletic training department and coordinating schedules for all of Latin's sports teams, officials, and support staff. Coach Kelly led the JV boys’ lacrosse team from 2008-2015 and returned to coaching in 2023 as the head of the girls' golf program. He was selected as the Charlotte Observer Girls' Golf Coach of the Year in 2025 after the Hawks won the school's first-ever NCISAA Division I Girls' Golf Championship. He and his wife Katy have two children at Charlotte Latin.
