2024 Season Summary
By Coach Searles
One game does not define a season, and as we look back on a special year for Charlotte Latin Soccer we have so many things to be proud of. Everyone can look at results, everyone can look at the goals, the games winners, but what does not reflect in the box score is how much fun this team was to be around and how much they cared for each other. From the start of the year in the preseason mountain trip, to the overnight Ravenscroft tournament all the way through the playoffs, you saw a group of young men who enjoyed being together. We saw a team and a program learn how to win, and that is what this returning group will bring to next season. This season Louis Markin won the Unbreakable Award, Parker Rubinacci won the Team Award, and Collin Kiefer won the Coaches Award. The Hawks finished the season second in the conference with a 6-4 record, adding a 15-6 record in the state as the #6 overall seed.
All-Conference honorees:
• Parker Rubinacci - First Team All Conference
• Louis Markin - First Team All Conference
• Clayton Hahn - Second Team All Conference
• Aidan Long - Second Team All Conference
• Ethan Worrell - Second Team All Conference

2023 Season Summary
This Hawks team overcame a lot from the months of August until October. They overcame injury, adversity and heartbreak. Looking at our 6-13-1 record one would think the season wasn't competitive.
However as one dives deeper into the stats, you see how close this team was to success.  Out of thirteen losses, ten were decided by one goal. Of those ten, three were decided by overtime, and two were decided in PKs. The record doesn't reflect the effort each individual put into the season, the passion that ignited each player, or the pride felt by each player as they represented Charlotte Latin. This was a season of growth, a season of learning, and a season of getting 1% better. We thank the seniors for their efforts over the last four years and for all they've done for our program, and we are excited for the future of this program as the resilience this team showed will benefit us going forward.

2022 Season Summary
The 2022 boys' varsity soccer season was one to be remembered as not only did the Hawks play one of the toughest schedules in the state, they walked away CISAA conference champions at the end of it all.  Starting the year with a record of 5-1-1 against some incredible teams, the Hawks quickly found themselves 5-5-1 after a string of close games with heartbreaking finishes.  The rest of the season, however, was a testament to the character, determination and mindset of the team.  The Hawks went on to finish the season 6-1, with some incredible road victories at Cannon, Covenant Day & Charlotte Country Day.  I am very proud of this team and all that we accomplished together.

2021 Season Summary
Our theme this season was "Dare to Care," and these boys did just that. We played a very challenging schedule including early games against Carmel Christian and Wesleyan, and made it to the finals of the Ravenscroft tournament. There were several tight games that could have gone either way. One of the best things about the season was the incredible student support. A highlight was our student section at our away game with CCDS that helped push our guys to a huge 4-1 win that night. As has been our mantra, we played an exciting style of attacking soccer that all fans enjoy to watch. This was my final season coaching boys' soccer as I am retiring at the end of the year, and I couldn't have asked for a better group. They played their hearts out every night!

2020 Season Summary
The varsity boys' soccer team received the fifth seed going into the state tournament, with five wins and five losses. Two of those losses were tied games at the end of regulation and overtime, that ultimately went to penalty kicks. The Hawks defeated Covenant Day in the second round of the tournament, but lost to the eventual state champion (Carmel Christian) 1-0 in the quarterfinal. From Coach Horton: "We had a tremendous group of guys that the coaching staff loved working with. Three great captains, and 7 great seniors. We were the only team to beat PD, the top team in the conference, and we gave Carmel Christian, the state champions, their closest game in the playoffs. We were thankful to get to play!!!!!!! This group of guys just loved being together, thus we had a great team culture." Seniors Julian Evans and Luke Morgan earned 1st Team All-Conference and senior Andrew Cowan and sophomore Sutton Shumate earned 2nd Team All-Conference recognition.
